At least 47 people were killed Sunday when a passenger plane carrying 181 people crashed during landing at an airport in southwestern South Korea, according to officials.
According to officials from the local fire department, the aircraft, which was flying for Jeju Air of South Korea, was landing at Muan International Airport when it veered off the runway.
According to National Fire Agency spokesman Kang Won-sik, 47 persons have been found dead in the jet crash thus far. He reported that two individuals, both crew members, had been saved. According to Mr. Kang, rescuers were looking for the remaining 132 individuals.
