At Anchorage Airport, an Alaska Airlines Boeing B737 aircraft received damage as maintenance staff steered the aircraft off a taxiway inadvertently while taxiing Wednesday afternoon.
The aircraft went off the taxiway and into a ditch at approximately around 13:43 hours, according to the Department of Transportation (DOT).
As per Shannon McCarthy, communications director for the DOT, no passengers were on the plane at the time of the maneuver and no injuries were sustained.
As per Alaska Airlines communications director Tim Thompson a maintenance team for the airline was repositioning the aircraft when it “inadvertently exited a taxiway” on the way to a place to park it.
