One critical component of this management is the PT25 sensor, which provides essential data on temperature and pressure at the high-pressure compressor (HPC) inlet. In this article, we’ll explore the workings of the PT25 sensor and its role in engine management.
The PT25 sensor is a dual sensor that measures both temperature and pressure at the HPC inlet. It features two platinum elements, one for Channel A and one for Channel B. The Engine Electronic Control (EEC) system provides a constant voltage power supply to the sensor elements, which change resistance in response to temperature variations. The output voltages from the platinum elements are sent to the EEC, which converts them into temperature and pressure data.
The PT25 sensor plays a critical role in engine management by providing accurate data on temperature and pressure at the HPC inlet. The EEC uses this data to control engine systems, such as the Variable Stator Vane (VSV), Temperature Bleed Valve (TBV), and Pressure Bleed Valve (PBV) systems.
