
In the aftermath of the tragic crash of Air India Flight AI171, one story of resilience has stood out – that of Ramesh Vishwaskumar, the passenger seated in 11A.
Ramesh, a 38-year-old IT consultant from Bengaluru, was traveling to the UK on business when the Boeing 787 Dreamliner went down shortly after takeoff from Ahmedabad. Despite the chaos and devastation surrounding him, Ramesh miraculously survived the crash, emerging from the wreckage with minor injuries.
Witnesses say that Seat 11A, located near the front of the economy cabin, was one of the few that remained relatively intact after impact. According to emergency responders, Ramesh remained conscious and alert, assisting fellow passengers until first responders arrived at the scene.
Currently recovering in a local hospital, Ramesh has expressed immense gratitude to the flight crew and rescue teams. “I don’t know why I survived,” he said in a brief statement, “but I want to use this second chance to do something meaningful.”
His survival amid such tragedy is being hailed as a miracle – and his courage and calm in the face of disaster have already begun to inspire many across the nation.
