News extract “Initial information is that all passengers and crew on board are safe. Several were injured and are currently being evacuated to be taken to Serui Regional Hospital,” said Director General of Air Transportation of the Ministry of Transportation M Kristi Endah Murni, in Jakarta, Monday.

The aircraft was carrying 42 passengers and six crew members (crew on board).

Based on the statement from the Ministry of Transportation, the chronology of the incident was that after landing from Biak at 10:19 WIT and parking “stand” at 10:21 WIT, at 10:35 WIT the aircraft moved on land (taxi) to Sentani Airport, Jayapura.

Only one minute later the plane skidded to the left with a position of 1,200m from the runway or with the statement “take off runway in use 28”. The cause of the plane skidding is still under investigation.

“I have ordered the Head of the Class III UPBU Office Stevanus Rumbewas Serui to continue to monitor and coordinate with all related parties in the evacuation process and handling of the impact of this incident,” said Kristi.
