Why is Boeing not happy even after Re-certification of Boeing 737-Max ? How B787 Dreamliner’s Dormant Structural Woes are going to bite the aerospace giant real hard, atleast financially ?

βœ”Once Undisputed King of the Aerospace world, Boeing is facing issues one after another.

βœ”The Issue:

πŸ‘‰B787’s Carbon composite Fuselage & Horizontal stabilizer segments found with signs of overly-tight joints due to improper widths/gaps of some shims that fits between segments.

πŸ‘‰Boeing delivered single B787 jet in December & Nil in November-20 which will cost Boeing a whopping $7.5 billion from Boeing’s revenues for the year 2020 & 2021.

πŸ‘‰Boeing altered the B787 production rate from 6 aircrafts/ month to 5 aircrafts/month for 2021 & also shifted B787 production from Everett plant.

πŸ‘‰Everett plant will now be used for complete inspections & rework of approx. 75 white tail (stored) aircrafts.

πŸ‘‰FAA & Boeing are determining the course of action for Dreamliners already in service.

βœ”The Fix:

πŸ‘‰Inspections & repairs might take months as the inspections require opening up the aircraft by disassembling the interior, floor & ceiling.

πŸ‘‰Though, issues don’t pose an immediate threat to safety, in-service Dreamliners will Lose DSG (Life cycles),if Nil action taken.
