Doug Ferguson, a pilot with more than 45 years of experience and an excess of 26,000 hours of flight time, made the emergency landing safe and smooth after his Beechcraft Be200 Super King Air aircraft (N924AC) faced malfunction with the nose landing gear on 24 September.

ANC Police and Fire said : “At approximately 1458 hours on September 24, 2024, Airport Police and Fire Department personnel responded to Runway 7L for report of an incoming King Air aircraft reporting landing gear issues. Upon landing, the nose gear collapsed, and ARFF units quickly began implementing safety precautions in case of a potential fuel leak. Fortunately, no fuel leakage or fire hazards were detected. “
“All six passengers, the pilot, and a dog safely evacuated the aircraft and were evaluated by ARFF personnel. No injuries were reported.”

“The pilot’s calm and skilled handling of the emergency situation was instrumental in preventing this from becoming a more serious incident.”
